Archibald
museum
of nothing
Fargo, ND
Located as an urban infill in downtown Fargo, ND the Archibald Museum of Nothing is a contradictory take on museums. The goal of this museum is to provide a place of calmness in an ordinarily rambunctious world. Each of the galleries shows a different take on what it means to be a Museum of Nothing. The first floor has an empty gallery that has pedestals with no sculptures. The second floor has the frame gallery which has frames of nothing and a sculpture made of empty frames. The third floor has a mirror gallery which changes the perspective to make the museum-goers the art on showcase. Overall this museum is designed to be a place of gathering and escape from the outside world.
