Other Projects and Concepts

FARGODOME Concept
A conceptual redesign of the FARGODOME consists of new metal panels and glass draped over the original structure. Designed in a way that keeps the form of the structure but modernizes it with new materials.

The Light Center Concept
The Light Center Concept is a Conceptually Stadium Design based on a light bulb. The idea was to take a shape and modify it until it turned into a structure. For this, I wanted to return a human-made object back to nature so that is why this form looks leaf-like. In the end, the last light bulb element is the outline of the shape. This was envisioned to be made of glass, metal panels, wood elements, and other elements. The goal was to not remind one of a light bulb when viewing this structure.
Methods - Hand drawn, marker and watercolor

Rock Theatre Concept
The Rock Theatre was derived from the same process as the Light Center. This concept was derived from you guessed it a rock. For this, a geometric overlay was put over the found rock to create this angular design. This was envisioned as a performing art theater and events center. The structure consists of different metal panels and glass panels for the entryway.

Original Drawing

Invisible Cities Project Thekla
For this project, we were tasked with choosing a story from Calvino's Invisible Cities. For this, I choose Thekla which in an overview is a city inspired by the stars that never stops construction out of fear that the buildings will decay. So in my take, I created a forced perspective that was drawn analog and then layered with illustrator and Photoshop. For this, I wanted to show a city centered around the one finished building and a blueprint of stars to show where they desire to go.

Analog to Digital Visual Research Project
This project was an exploration of new media such as Photoshop and Illustrator. The goal of this design was to talk the viewer on a journey that was inspired by a carnival. This one sees color samples from the project as little flags, images in the shape of a balloon, and images from the sites chosen being lifted up by the balloons. One may notice that there are some strings without ballons this is to show new opportunities for exploration

Sally Land Artist Studio
A proposed Land art Studio located within River Oaks Park in Moorhead MN. This facility would house traveling land artists for a few months. This facility has a public gathering space with a restroom, kitchen, living area, and large studio. On the second floor is the primary bedroom loft. The studio features large windows and large sliders to allow a connection between nature and the studio year-round. Another space the public gathering studio was developed to allow the public to see works from the artists and or for the artist to host events to encourage public connections. The landscaping around the building provides privacy for the artist but also keeps an easy connection to public spaces. The building is designed to have grass roofs over the public gathering space to make this building more environmentally friendly. Overall, this design returns a building to a site that has been abandoned and provides a new future for this site.

Process

Farnsworth House Brick Project
Is that the Farnsworth house in the form of a brick? Yes, it is for this project we were tasked with abstracting themes from famous architecture and turning them into bricks. For this project, I did it three times due to errors in the process as seen at the top of the image. For this, I removed everything but the pillars and the planes to best capture and honor this structure.

Ode to Architecture Postcard
For this group project for our theory class, we created what we call an Ode to Architecture postcard. We were tasked with creating a manifesto and a postcard along with a Movie. For this, we decided on some failed buildings and wrote a manifesto about that. My role in this was visionary and director for the movie about the postcard and developing the poster overview seen here. This was created digitally in Illustrator and then printed then ripped up then put back together. (see the image for more descriptions)
