Lester & Florence cottages 

Fargo, ND

Designed as a part of the urban fabric of the Fargo-Moorhead community the Lester & Florence Cottages serve as a small community-oriented development. Design inspiration traces back to the original homesteads on the prairie featuring muted structures and natural grass landscapes. These cottages are oriented around a central courtyard that serves as an urban prairie for residents. Units are designed to blend the interior with the natural environment. This is done with expansive windows and each unit featuring private patios. The Florence model features Two bedrooms along with one and a half bathrooms. The Lester units feature one bedroom and one bathroom. Beyond this, each unit takes full advantage of the one-and-a-half-level layout with dormers, light wells, and skylights which brings natural light into each space. This design allows for main-floor living along with adequate flexible loft space for guests or can serve as a space for residents to be creative.
